We have God stuff in us,and I like to think that the mission of JesusThe Christ,was to teach a small group of disciples a way to raise ourselves up to a level of consciousness to connect with The Father,an aspect of the vast source of all there is.
ie, as you have pointed out we are evolving toward a higher level.
I still choose to believe this, despite all the atavistic savagery in the past and also the present.
We are better than that.
