Very interesting article on Telstra working with Google Chromecast to assist it in the streaming market in Oz. I am currently using a chromecast and the future potential it has is amazing.

TELSTRA has entered into secret talks with Google in a move that would see the US search engine penetrate the Australian television market for the first time, with plans to launch of a digital media player that will further disrupt a challenged media sector.
The telco is aiming to introduce a proliferation of Google Chromecast dongles into the Australian market this year under the leadership of Telstra Media group managing director Rick Ellis........

In the US the dongles sell for $US35 ($39) and are likely to be similarly priced here. The telco views the dongle strategy as a way to increase eyeballs and revenue to its $2.2 billion a year media content business including Bigpond Movies.
Telstra let loose its engineers on Chromecast late last year and has since been in discussions with Google on ways to get its suite of Bigpond media properties, including movies and online sports broadcasts, on to the device.....
