mowerman, thanks for the response. That was along the lines of what I was thinking. But if I can't choose my leverage doesn't this mean that getting stopped out causes greater losses than I'd like?
For example if I short 1000 contracts at $10.00 with a stop loss/cover at $11.00 with no leverage, and the trade goes against me, then I have only lost $1,000. If I have 10x leverage then that would be a $10,000 loss?
Now if the maximum I wanted to lose is $1,000 and have 10x leverage then I guess I could put a stop loss/cover at $10.10 but then I am likely to get stopped out quickly with any minor whipsaw in the price.
mistyrains, i'm not referring specifically to the charting aspect but the platform in general. It seems to have too much going on and a lot of flashy features. Just my observation, perhaps I just need to get used to it and/or customise the layout more.
