I am more interested in the court case than the Bill amendment in the short term. A positive result from the courts and we are straight into production, there are no more appeal avenues. Changes to the Environmental Legislation and more importantly the EPA processes will be of significant benefit to Livingstone and Mt Lindsay. Both major parties are pushing for change and with senate change over in June we can expect some real progress in that department.
Article in the Advocate today states that..."If the case against the mine fails, the National Tarkine Coalition will have to face costs for the mining company and governments."
Lets hope common sense prevails....finally.
I get the feeling that 2014 will be the year of The Great Tasmanian Mining Boom. Local government is already started the planning for it. This court case is critical to sending the message Tasmania is really "open for business".
