The doctor`s should be trying everything to save the guy not looking for the easy way out
A relative was in a melbourne hospital for 3 months after a fall, during this time he was being fed intravenously and was connected to oxygen
He was 78 had dementia and many existing medical conditions yet received the best of care even though the future looked bleak in the end it was his decision he simply said
"I`ve had enough"
Doctor`s called a meeting with the family explained everything clearly and concisely family discussed it and the machine was turned off he died peacefully after 30 minutes
My point being it wasn`t up to the doctor or hospital admin who want patients to move on and not take up bedspace for too long it`s the patient and family`s right to receive the best of care and advice
He may need to be moved to another hospital
