you always have the choice of selling at the current offer price if you believe the share price is going to drop further.
Sell at 17 cents, buy back twice as many shares at 8.5 cents.
Before too many people get upset with me this is just an example to demonstrate that you don't necessarily have to sit back and do nothing when things go bad. Too many people fall into that trap and get stuck holding stock waiting for a turn around which may or may never come.
Aren't you better off with the money in your pocket, taking a wait and see attitude sometimes? For example I could have sold my holding just after the latest announcement at 19.5 cents and would in most likelihood be able to acquire an increased multiple of my shareholding on Monday morning.
I didn't sell my shareholding in BTR yesterday as currently too small to be bothered.
