11.00 pm. Wednesday evening first comments on some of JONGO's positions. others are also holding the same stocks
NCM - dont know what's happening with gold at the moment... understand that “lower interest rates for longer” as the Yellen slogan, which brings threats of inflation and hence the hedging against this with buying of gold. .. but then there is the current monthly tapering of QE which further restricts money supply and therefore should have the opposite effect - so i am in a quandary about all that. ..The current inflation rate in the US for January is 1.5% and year on year it is also 1.5%...so maybe gold is oversold a little ????
CBA – closed today a little below its high reached last week (when allowing for the dividend paid out), so with my position, which is still very Large (even after reducing) i am now more relaxed about that one, and will let mine run for a for a bit.
FMG - HY results out today. .. HY eps = 55c assume full year eps 110c.... close price of 5.82 / 110 = pe 5.3 .. debt reduced from 10.5b to 8.5b, debt to equity still 118% (check) Dividend: hy. 10c. assume fy. 20c. = yield of 3,4% An absolutely excellent result – and the stock closes approx. 18c. down ??
