I think the last announcement has just shed some light on this - Merrill Lynch have sold a big chunk plus have borrowed form all and sundry over the last month for shorting no doubt. I hope the POG jumps $100 to burn their fingers!
Interesting comments above re JP being almost out of paper gold. Does anyone have the time to explain the links between the paper market and the physical market? It's a leap too far for ignorant types like myself!
