Interesting long programme on Kurdistan on CNBC channel 652 business Austar cable. Very up to date, not old Saddam Hussein era stuff. The CEO of Crescent Enterprises , Mr.Badr Joffr (spelling?) was talking about the work he is doing in Kurdistan today on oil & gas projects. Despite the name he was American in every way. He acknowleged that the delay in contract law with the central govt in Baghdad is a continuing problem. But this has not stopped an explosion in general prosperity in the north. He feels that Irbil is something like Dubai was in the 80s .
OSH's Taza is in Kurdistan, so we'll be very interested in the province. At the moment with developments in Papua New Guinea, anything in Kurdistan is a matter of " jam tomorrow".
This was a weekend interview in the general series
"Davos Conversations".
