even if thorium was free (and there isn't a thorium reactor anywhere producing electricity) the cost would only come down by 3c. No big deal.
All the infrastructure needs to be paid off. So there is no incentive to smaller, locally producing power stations that thorium pebbles could provide. The "grid" is less than a century old, but is already outdated with solar providing for locally generated and used power. That's why there is the problem with pricing.
