Skype is awesome, been using it for years living and traveling around the world you can't find a better way to be in touch with people.
If more people realised how cheap it is to communicate via internet and apps, our telco companies would be in big trouble. Heck, when I was living in Germany I would sit in a starbucks or McDonalds, leach off free wi-fi and talk for hours on skype. I have a Vodafone account in Deutchland, but rarely used it.
SKYPE is free skype to skype, very cheap to make skype to landline calls from anywhere in world.
WHATSAPP (free sms, voice messages, MMS to anywhere around the world)
I like TLS, it's a great business and I will always hold a position providing they keep up good Dividends. But society is foolish to pay such high costs like we do. You know, the average mark up for an SMS is something like 98% to what the actual cost is. Crazy.
Email is free too. Why pay to communicate when you don't have to.
