skype etc should have to pay tls and optus, page-26

imo one day you will all wake go to your computers expecting to use skype etc for free provided by mega companies like microsoft,google,facebook to talk to your friends ,relatives etc but a large window will be displayed by these mega companies once they have secured their mega global positions by what ever means necessary (eg paying 19b for a future competitive threat)asking for one of those micro payments.
Don't forget this was an optus suggestion after telstra was unsuccessful due to accc.So like many other new technologies it is becoming a telco verse technology company fight.
Either way imo one way or another you will be paying the telcos or the mega technology companies for access to your skype etc.
The accc is wrong again and at least telstra and optus pay their fair share of tax to the australian govt unlike these global mega technology companies.
And as a 54 year old i will be very happy for my smsf to recieve the extra profit telstra makes by charging these mega technology companies which will probably force these mega technology companies to price their future access to skype at a more competitive price that would otherwise be the case.
Support the mega global companies now as they pay $19b for what they regard as any small start ups they see as threatening the future market control,i'm sure when they are satisfied their positions are safe they will support you.
