Or to put it another way just a couple of million less than the number of US citizens currently on food stamps.

It’s funny how the financial stress being felt in various countries around the world is currently expressing itself. Think Arab Spring through to South American inflation to Syrian unrest and now Eastern Europe.

I just wonder in the land of the free and great how things will go when the food stamps dry up particularly with every second or third household having firearms.

It’s a strange part of human nature that if you find yourself being thrown around in a rough sea in a twenty foot boat that you should find some comfort in seeing a couple of guys close by in a twelve foot dinghy!

I wish the people of Ukraine and other trouble spots around the world including those on food stamps in the USA the very best of luck in the coming months.

I just hope my sense of foreboding over the last few years and my personal preparations in gold, cash etc. will afford me sufficient protection from the current crop of dangerous lunatics gaining ever more control over the asylum.
