Anyway, It seems your friend has a problem with alcohol. There's no doubt that all those calories consumed in the beer is a major part of his weight problem. There is a drug called Antabuse or disulfiram. People who take this drug feel sick when they consume alcohol and it therefore helps them with a negative association with the consumption of their favourite tipple. If he's desparate, that might help.
