14% gain at close vetoed by commsec! I had a buy order filled earlier in the day except for about 400 shares. I had planned to just throw them to the lowest seller at close, which would have been at 98c making it a 14% rise on the day. My order appeared on screen but was pulled just before the closing settlement by Commsec who then rang me and politely explained to me that the ASX get a bit annoyed by such pranks and there were rules that prevented small parcel trades making such a difference to closing.
I admitted that partly it was just to see the reaction it would cause,especially to the fans on HC! It was only going to cost me a few dollars and it also meant closing the order rather than have an annoying tidbit to tidy up tomorrow.
Too many rules.
A nice announcement would be good now too.....
