Listening to the ABC yesterday, a physicist was saying that the latest breakthrough would allow scientists to look back to within one 30 billionth of a second (or some such infinitesimally small fraction of a second), after the Big Bang.
He also said that it is possible that many universes may have been created, by other "Big Bangs."
If that is the case, they will have to come up with a new word to replace UNIverse,
All this is way too difficult for me to grasp but I find it fascinating.
On a controversial note, he said that this making of something, from nothing, would dispel all supernatural theories on how we got here.
I guess they have a long way to go before they prove that one, but haven't we come a long way in a couple of centuries?
Quantum gravitation was also mentioned, perhaps some of the scientists here can tell us what that is all about ?
