Interesting, the pdf version of the ASX release shows a big blank space in the middle of the Release suggesting that some further information was excluded from the Release (see, below, and check out the pdf):
------------------------------------------------------
Melbourne, 25 February 2003 - Further to its recent announcement of 13 February 2003, Tennyson Networks (ASX TNY) provides the following information.
The Company expects to pay the deposit with respect to the acquisition of the Data Services business, on or before 1 March 2003.
Settlement is anticipated to occur approximately 30 days thereafter.
------------------------------------------------------
The exclusivity period has run out.
Expecting to pay the deposit by Satur-day means, in practical terms, by Friday.
"Expecting" suggests that the deal is still progressing, but is not yet complete. Until a further announcement comes out, the guarantee is not there that the deal will be closed. That said, in practical terms, it makes operational sense to transfer staff, etc, at the commencement of a relevant accounting period (ie: beginning of the month), rather than mid-month.
But, beyond this, what was it that the Company intended disclosing, but in the end did not do so? Time, will tell.
