Mahatir did not state nor do I agree that crashing a plane into the WTC or blowing up a night club is OK. Neither is the blowing up of innocent civilians in Iraq, Afganistan, Palestine, Israel or any where else.

The point being made is that what the likes of yourself view as the difference between collateral damage and murder is being viewed by others the same way except in reverse.

It is clear that you rate lives to be of a different value depending on their religious or racial background so you should not be surprised when others do the same thing but put you at the bottom rung.

If we can justify killing others as collateral damage is it not reasonable for them to view killing us the same way.

Yes there will always be innocent victims in war but war should only be a last resort not waged because you can.

It is quite simple if you let your narrow mind go past the headline of what Mahatir has said - what is needed is the problems in the world to be fixed - not more created.
