Very silly response. I don't know too many pedestrians who walk along the roadway rather than stick to a footpath - crossing the road has absolutely nothing to do with this debate - it is about cyclists respecting the rules of the road.
[Further, pedestrians can and do get booked for jaywalking in Sydney CBD].
A very simple litmus test for cyclists:
- Do/Have you ever run a red light, regardless of whether the road is busy or quiet, day or night?
If the answer is yes, unless it is a very rare one-off, then this is clearly an abuse of the privilege of cycling on the road.
The above was a leading question because I believe most cyclists do ride through red lights, especially when the road is empty/quiet. If motorists did this, there would be a hefty price to pay and ultimately, anarchy on our roads.
No rego and yet expecting the same privileges as motorists and more.
