Have a look at the link I posted . The MBA talks about housing affordability in Vic . Today they reckon it's 5.7 compared to 3 in 1995 .
The market in Vic was pretty bad in 95 from memory . It peaked previously in 89 .

Prices went sideways during that period till about 97 or 98 and then took off .

There are some similarities to the current trend from 2008 to now .
