I think the US has made so many enemies over the years simply by deliberately playing both sides. They have shown that they can no longer be trusted. For any country to spend 42% of the Global expenditure for military defence highlights the paranoia that surrounds their policies. There are just too many coincidences and cover-ups, not just 9/11, but many others that have not been resolved and probably never will be. What makes it worse is the way US citizens are no longer trusted, but rather treated as a possible terrorist. The US Government is way out of line with their paranoid doctrine and policies. US citizens are finally waking up to their own government.
