If you see a yield of over 8% on a (supposedly) blue-chip stock it's generally a sign that the market has already priced in a div cut coming up.
In MTS's case we knew it was coming because the the payout ratio couldn't be sustained.
Good example of the old saying "If something seems too good to be true, it probably is." MTS's div yield is a prime example!
