News: UGL awarded $136M power systems project

    UGL Limited (ASX:UGL) has been awarded a $136 million power systems project by Alinta Energy. 


     


    The engineering company says it will design, procure and construct the Newman to Roy Hill High Voltage System, stage one of Alinta’s East Pilbara Link Project. 


     


    UGL Managing Director and CEO Richard Leupen has welcomed the contract and says it will support Alinta expanding its power generation and transmission in Western Australia. 


     


    Mr Leupen has also noted improving levels of activity across the infrastructure sector and says UGL is well positioned to benefit from increased momentum.  


     


    UGL reported a net profit of $31.3 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
