I would expect them to issue scrip - the trend of announcements has suggested they were looking for investor support for an acquisition (either the acquisition negotiations or the support seemed to have taken a little longer than expected).
The share price has been building in possible dilution too. Time to see if the terms stack up for existing holders - potential for a good bounce if the acquisition price and any scrip issue is priced fairly.
