The difference in store standard is where iga see their improved profit. They plan to train the bad managers to be good managers. It has a lot of potential as mentioned above. There are two igas and a woolies within 500m of my house. One iga does huge trade because it's all fancy and has awesome food. Charges big premiums for the top shelf stuff and the other iga is always dead. The woolworths is about as busy as the busier iga. A lot less busy if you look at it as people per square metre.
If they can pull their plan off they'll make a killing. The way to know if it is working is find a couple of bad igas and go to them every couple of months, you'll see if they are improving their service offer. I chose to visit two because one could be an isolated failure case. It'll tell you what is in igas annual report well before any shareholder reports. I've already noticed some improvements in marketing and some more competitive pricing. No reformatting yet.
Anyone spots a store reformat be sure to post how it turns out.
