MrGordon, Christ died on the eve of the Passover, he rose on the day after it, hence Sunday worship. So celebration of that day has always been linked to the feast of Passover. The event has always been about the death and resurrection. Other stuff that has been tacked on over the centuries has been very peripheral. Adopting pagan symbols of renewal is not bad, it does not indicate acceptance of pagan doctrine. As I have said before, Christ redeemed we sinful people, he also redeemed our other sinful actions when we use them to celebrate our beliefs in God.
