    Joe, in my experience, that quiet time time when the blow is "just out there" is quite eerie. It's hard to pinpoint what's different, the birds go quiet but it is more than that.

    The wind is generally calm but you get those wisps with a little rain which pepper your windows for a few seconds. It may just be your nerves.

    But take care Joe, depending on where you are, it may be a couple of weeks before things get back to normal.

    You mentioned taking your boats up the mangrove creeks: Thats an old successful trick. Staying in a marina and having boats pile up as in Port Hinchenbrook during Yasi ain't such a good idea.
