folks like Manny1970 & Mr Gordon get lost in words & parables that have been passed down over hundreds of years from language to language and need folk like DDZX to clarify
human beings are punished (suffer) because they behave in the same way as Adam, namely, eating the fruit of (i.e., developing obsessions about) discriminations of "good" & "evil"
the discrimination of "good" leads to suffering when the good is lost. the discrimination of "evil" leads to the mind burning in its own hell of hatred & anger
all human suffering & conflict come from idiosyncratic discriminations of "good" & "evil"
for example, if we perceived IsXlamists as "ignorant; not knowing what they are doing" rather than "evil", our mind will be more peaceful, gentle, beautiful, wise & happy
it will eat from the Tree of Life

God intervened when he sent Jesus. Jesus said: "I am the Way", which means: "My way of walking is the way you should walk" by not obsessing over 'good' & 'evil' but, instead, developing a mind of forgiveness & transcendence from worldly things
therefore, God has certainly intervened to end our punishment by showing us a path we must walk so we ourselves can end our own self-inflicted punishment
we must administer the medicine ourself. God will not intervene in a sudden miracle
Buddha said: "I only point the Way; it is you that must walk the Way; no one can purify another"
