Jessie1 said: Time to grow up. We continue as a nation to provide billions of dollars in grants and to provide all sorts of other benefits to those of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island heritage

another illogical statement, as though the grants "we" have given "we" created from thin air and as though this "nation" we have created is something alien & separate from the land was used by those of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island heritage

the sentiment of Jessie1 here is like we have given billions of $$$ of charity to Indonesians who suffered a tsunami

we, as a nation, have provided billions in grants and other benefits [aka 'compensation'] to those of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island heritage because the wealth of this nation has been built from the very land they once used as their home, livelihood & culture

we took their land & institutionalised what was left of their people thus we made a self-created obligation to pay them the blood money we owed them from taking & using their land for making our trillions of dollars in wealth

the fact is many current Aboriginals have struggled to heal from the afflictions of their ancestors &/or struggled to adjust to the European ways

obviously, there is a problem still existing which has not been fully solved

sure, it is wonderful if everyone could move on, become self-reliant & progress but this is obviously not the reality

so the more we can make those still struggling to feel loved, worthy, wanted & create job paths & opportunities the more we will progress

what is the benefit of hatred & no empathy? none
