where's management?

Tried to ring the company and couldn't get on to anyone. When I was told the board was away I asked the receptionist whether they may in fact be overseas, at which point I was told "they weren't permitted to say".

It seemed a bit evasive so I then went on to ask "could they perhaps be in China?" to which there was a pause and then a "no comment"......That's enough for me to read between the lines.....
