Hairyback, the funding for SBS appears to have been added to the ABC funding to inflate the end figure.
Journalist and politicians are rarely a reliable source of facts.
Even including $233 million for the Australia Network over 10 years ($20+ million per year), the $69.4 million over 4 years ($27 million a year), and the $10 million payment, it still means the funding figure was inflated by more than 30% for the articles.
$900 or $1,200 million, it's not unusual for Journalist and politicians to inflate figures, but it is still dishonest of them to do so.
The main point is to use caution when using figures supplied by Journalist and politicians, and if possible try and verify what you can or at the very least, accept that Journalist and politicians use very rubbery figures that cannot be relied upon as being factual.
