Don't knoiw how many of you have the time to listen to parts of the media I do, I listen while I work...but looking at the little Rover deposit noticed a figure for 9,500 tonnes of bismuth. (Bi)
    Hmmm... Bismuth?

Now people, Google the words "bismuth" and "battery".

Bismuth about twice as available in the earths surface as gold. ie its pretty hard to find.

A couple of new battery technologies are rapidly progressing which will by the look of it completely revolutionise batteries, electric car propulsion and solar power storage.

Get this a battery which needs a bit of bismuth made out of iron, called iron-air batteries which can store the same power as lithium ion but a tenth of the price.

The same battery would increase the range of an electric car between chrges from 100 ks to closer to 300. Last all day. Much cheaper too.

Same would allow storage from solar panels to run electric equipment all night.

It exists now. Going through devt process.

There is a program at Sydney uni which uses Bismuth to produce a battery with "near nuclear" capability.

And I thought gold was valuable.

Bismuth prices have recently reached $25 kilo, and three countries have it. Australia, Bolivia and China.
ATM mainly a byproduct if lead smelting and total product world 16,000 tonnes pa. This will likely create huge demand. But limited supply. How long would $25 kilo last?
My bet would be $100/kilo minimum. Maybe more. Remember here isnt a lot about, but those batteries...you could ditch the grid and the $200 qtr supply charge for a start.

    They are coming.

At $25 kilo thats about $250mill. At $100 kilo a billion.

This is a small and dense deposit, mining wise. It might soon be a bismuth mine with a copper byproduct.

These batteries will start coming on the market in about 4 years for the iron/oxgyen, but the Sydney uni one? Thats WILD thing.

    Go on, Google it.
