No connection to Bleyer

I AM offended by your article implying I am involved with Roland Bleyer (“Former minister entangled in colourful world of Oakajee saviour”, 28/4). It is four years since I broke my association with Bleyer when I became uncomfortable with his way of doing business. The fact that Bleyer continues to use my name to pursue his doubtful business ambitions is something I resent but over which I have no control. I have no connection with his company, Super Kite which is involved in a serious legal case in the US, and I quote from correspondence received from John Pierceall, attorney at Ancillary Legal Corp, the law firm acting for the US claimants against Bleyer and Super Kite.



“This email is our assurance to you that we believe that you have no personal liability to the client in the lawsuit. We also state unequivocally that we believe you have absolutely no personal implication as director, shareholder or employee of Super Kite nor knowledge of this company’s operations.”

I am bitterly disappointed that the paper seeks to involve me in Bleyer’s business arrangements because of my previous high profile as a Hawke government cabinet minister. I only ever allowed Bleyer into my orbit in the hope he would become a contributor to my charity.

I hope further articles will not link me to Bleyer for whom I have no regard and no connection.
