His 'new' strategy seems to be 'business as usual other than hiring some more people to do the existing work'.
A radical change of direction would be something like selling the land and being paid to act as operator, or selling the rigs and hiring operators, or getting rid of the current assets and starting a venture elsewhere, or using a completely different method of drilling, or, you know, actually radically changing something.
