1) The projection of 126,000 t of Nd-Fe-B magnets in 2014 seems very high to me, given present market conditions and apparent demand;

2) There has been a major effort across the magnet industry to a) use Nd-Fe-B grades that contain less Dy, for the same applications, by reducing the operating temperature of the system, and b) to engineer grades to use less Dy to achieve the same operating temperatures.

I do believe that we will see growth in demand for Dy, but given the decrease in average Dy usage per unit mass of magnet, I don’t believe that this demand is going to cause a crisis.
