lani is only in phase 1 trial; phase 2 will take approx 18-24months and phase 3 another 24 months. normal route fda will take approx 36 - 48 months; however under project bioshield act fda might allow US ONLY to stockpile lani based on phase 1 data if emergency conditions deemed to exist by US govt.

with expected revenue in FY06/07/08 bta might just be able to bankroll phases 2/3 trials without big pharma partner; marketing/distribution might be a problem. furthermore sankyo owns 50% of lani ; is bta management capable of negotiating a favorable arrangement.
