When and how did this "golden handcuffs","golden hello and goodbye" culture become so entrenched in corporate Australia. There was a time when poorly performing managers of a company were quietly removed at little cost to the shareholders.The only thing the Stan Wallis' of this world seem to apply themselves to is negotiating an employment contract which facilitates a monumental exit from the company.
It's not as if these supercilious bozos aren't remunerated very generously as they grind each company they graft themselves onto into the ground.
They are a disgrace to all the men and women who, since the end of WW11, pretty well devoted their entire working lives to companies like AMP and AXA, none of whom walked away with any such outrageous payouts.
I have no idea as to how this practice can be stopped.
