High horses? Call it whatever you like. I am merely commenting because I've been that 20 year old peanut, studying finance at university, and thinking I was actually learning something important. The truth is that it wasn't. It was a complete waste of time. I also know several other people who are all smug about their masters degree in finance, thinking they know something about the real world. It's laughable.

I remember doing a summer school university assignment while working in a summer vacation role. I got my boss to help me write the essay. It came back with a sea of red ink on it, telling me that this was wrong and that was wrong. Never mind that my boss had worked in the stock market industry for 30+ years, and had been head of department at the ASX for 13 years!!! So I went online to look at the resume of my lecturer, and lo and behold, has never worked a day in the real world in her entire life... emblematic of the whole experience really, learning nonsense theories from American textbooks, being taught by people who have no real world experience.

This kid needs to be saved from himself, and it is he who is on his high horse, thinking that studying finance at university amounts to a hill of beans.
