Agree about not messing about with wedging. In my experience it can work well but it can also turn into an expensive, lengthy process. Better to drill shallow holes (maybe RC) from the other direction as mausgras suggests if you're only really interested in the upper parts. Also larger samples would help with the nugget effect if they're worried about that, NQ isn't very big.
They obviously don't want to or can't do this (drill from the other direction) for some reason - can't help but wonder if there is a reluctant landowner or some environmental issue (looks like the pads would have to go in the cluster of trees on the airphoto).
Still, look forward to some results!
