gilded it is very difficult these days to adopt an Australian child. Adopt not Foster that is. I think one would find Adoption is of overseas children as the norm with INTRA Family adoption predominating for Australian born. By Intra Family adoption I mean some family member formally adopting a deceased, diseased or disturbed relations children.
So I think the issue of Gay Marriage for Adoption is chiefly in the hands of Overseas Adoption Agencies and in a smaller part 'judgement' of whether a Gay Relative should be granted this option.
My mother and her 2 sisters on being an orphaned under 10 was raised under the guardianship of a 'gay' uncle. That was in the 1920's.
gilded there are circumstances in society where a gay unmarried or not has responsibilities and should have the right to take them up.
