Whilst Spain now produces over 50% of its electricity from renewables it has got into a mess with the finances. Too many subsidies for renewables and an uneconomic cap on electricity prices have combined to cause a budgetary problem. As a result electricity prices are up and renewable subsidies drastically cut.
Therefore say goodbye to optimism about Petratherm in Tenerife or anywhere else in Spain! It seems that forces have combined on all sides to well and truly kick Petratherm whilst it's down and almost out.
