Thanks Wafflehead. I have spent some time with sufferers of Downs Syndrome etc (helping to run church services for them, would you believe) and they would have enormous problems reading the bible let alone understanding it. Why does God make the bible so impossible for them? What hope is there for them? They get more hope from the people who love and care for them than any invisible deity, it would seem.
