" But the problem is Labor does not have the balls to come out at a State or Federal level and stand up for a proper balance when in opposition and take on the Greens. "
They do, and have. When Gillard was in power, she let them split and referred to the Greens as "fundamentally a party of protest rather than a party of government," as people have complained about here.
When you have a marginal position though, it is necessary to pick your battles and compromise as necessary.
Or you could just be a minor party and rant away! :-)
The sadder thing is when did the Liberals become the anti-science party? Both at a federal level with their policies, and here where the science has shown it to be safe, they ignore that, and go against the science just to support the vocal minority. What happened to the principle of standing up for good governance?
Even in the original announcement, they say it will be reassessed by Monday, and then don't deliver on their promise and hide. That's a failure of both process and governance.
