Serena, true, but that is not what I said. A person who only held $1000 of shares would not be able to purchase $15000 worth using sale proceeds.
What I mean is sell for $xxx (at a big loss) of stock at say a possible 14 cents after the SPP announcement, and then repurchase using same $xxx through SPP at say 11 cents.
I just think the idea of substantial loss selling and repurchase at a slightly lower price, using sale proceeds is a bit flawed. If there is a bit price difference the outcome is much better.
