sorry if i commenced the reply in, what could be construed as, a negative tone
at least you didn't take offense
credit to you.
suffering is a very good teacher, and we would do well to heed the lessons that it dishes out, rather than responding with nothing more than aversion, or distraction
however, there comes a point where we have had more than enough and, say, "ok i get it" and repent (cease repeating or start putting a stop to) of the sin (or wrong way, or missing the mark), because we can see where it leads for ourselves.
children are told not to do things often with no explanation why
this is innocence
after some time, it becomes essential to know why
evasion is a good tactic
i can remember when i was a youth, trying to punch someone, but they kept dodging me
i quickly gave up
same goes with evil
after some time, we come to recognize it and learn to dodge it, it may come back a few times, but the more competent that we are in dodging it, the faster it will give up - wearing itself out.
then we create space to taste and focus on the good fruit and put some effort into careful cultivation of the such, because we know, from experience, that there is excellent value.
cheers
