The problem right now is that Government debt is set to expand because the forward projections spending promises are unfunded and can't be funded any other way than taking on debt ,which this country will find increasingly difficult to procure ,all other things being equal, and if spending is not cut drastically . That's just obvious ,anyone with even a passing interest in Government finances understands that.

The more disturbing feature in this country is that household debt is one of the highest per capita in the western world ,and on an upward trajectory . I've tried to have discussions with Labor apologists who swear black and blue that debt doesn't matter, on the toxic cocktail that is brewing in this country but it's like talking to a brick wall.

I guess it's just the same here on HC as anywhere else.

Nonetheless we're in a fairly ordinary state overall in this country ,the Government knows it ,but doing something about it and breaking it to the masses is nigh on impossible because the masses lack the intelligence (and it doesn't take much ) to comprehend the complexity of the issues ,and if you're taking something away from them they'll never listen anyway.

I don't really know how we turn this around but Abbott is at least trying ,his vulnerability in being a punching bag for the left makes it difficult to get any message across.

As the situation worsens it will no doubt be his fault ,I haven't heard any ideas from the left as how to sustain the unsustainable other than continue to live in Alice's Wonderland
