I'm not intending to be rude or disrespectful of your posts, but your arguments could be read as indignant cries at the end of the age of entitlement.

I'm not aware of many western economies that have been able to fund welfare at the level enjoyed by Australians ... certainly not America and certainly not Europe, with perhaps the exception of some Scandinavian countries gifted oil disproportionate to their populations.

I cant quote sources, but I understand changing demographics have a lot to do with it ... by virtue of people living longer, lifetime health care and retirement costs are blowing out at the same time as the proportion of Australians working/producing is declining.

Assuming Hockey has been well advised by treasury when formulating the recent budget, what would you do to fund increased welfare?

If there is to be no compromise on welfare, surely your only choice is to raise government revenues ... and that can only come from taxing the presently comfortable and the presently wealthy and business?
