Geoff, after the pit was flooded Morgan Hart (Director and Head of Operations) resigned. Someone had to take the blame and it appears it was him.
From what I've read on here his experience in process design enabled RRL to build their plants cheaper than others and hence achieve better returns for shareholders.
I would assume he was a good portion of the 'intellectual capital' Rick Rule was referring to in his quote from October 2013.
