what if google purchases skybox and ramps up the number of satelites and r&d? the technology is rapidly evolving. i can only imagine the resolution and photo quality will improve. with multiple photos per day, i am sure some bright spark will be able to design software to merge photos to increase resolution and clarity.

imagine google earth in near to real time. that is the holy grail. we may not be able to imagine it, but who would of imagined google earth and street view 20yrs ago. nea may struggle with such competition that is rapidly evolving.

also just as a side note, the photos of perth on skyboxs website raise some concern in my opinion. perth is nearmaps heartland. why publish photos of perth and not the eastern population hubs. maybe some friendly warning shots over nearmaps bow?

i wish nearmap well and hope they prove my nagging doubts wrong.
