re: ethanol - scarva "Indcor (ICO) has announced plans to increase the local manufacture of ethanol, which can be used to produce a petrol/ethanol blend, suitable for use in the internal combustion engine. "
In whose opinion is it suitable for internal combustion?? Maybe a specifically designed engine, but to put it into a modern engine designed to run on petrol is inviting mechanical disaster.
And I've had anough of this sh!t about how wonderfully environmentally friendly ethanol is. In Australia ethanol is produce from sugar cane, which uses mega-tonnes of pesticides and fertilizers, which flow down the rivers and out onto the Great Barrier Reff where they encourage algae growth which kills the coral.
You have to consider the full life cycle of the product before deciding environmental impact. (Do that for plastic bags versus paper bags and you'll find that plastic bags have a lower negative environmental effect.)
